For forms with a very small upload limit. Set to 100 KB already: add your PDF and download a file that fits.
Some upload forms still cap files at 100 KB: older registration systems, school and scholarship portals, membership sign-ups and many help desk forms. The upload button simply refuses anything bigger, often without saying why.
100 KB is very small. A one-page text document usually fits easily. A scanned page or a photo of a document often starts at 1 to 5 MB, so it needs strong compression.
Text-only PDFs usually stay sharp and selectable. Scans are saved as images at a lower resolution, so small print can get softer. Always open the result before you upload it. If it is hard to read, split the document and upload the pages separately, if the form allows that.
Large scans and photos hold a lot of image data. If even the lowest readable quality is above 100 KB, we tell you instead of giving you an unreadable file. Try fewer pages or a black-and-white scan.
Close, but not exactly. We aim a little under the limit, so the file is accepted whether the site counts 1 KB as 1,000 or 1,024 bytes.
If we reach 100 KB with lossless optimization, yes. If pages have to be saved as images, the text looks the same but can no longer be selected.
No. Your browser does the work on your own device. The file is never sent to us.
