Set to 4 MB, the limit on several IRCC accounts. Check your portal and change it if yours allows 5 MB.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada sets a maximum size per uploaded file, and it depends on which online account you use. According to IRCC, the limit is 4 MB for the IRCC secure account, the online citizenship application, the Asylum portal and the Permanent Residence Portal, and 5 MB for the IRCC Portal (IRCC Help Centre). Limits can change, so check the page you are uploading to.
Bank statements, tax documents, police certificates and passport copies are often scanned in color at high resolution, which pushes them past 4 MB. Several pages scanned into one file add up quickly.
Immigration documents are among the most personal files you have. Our tools run inside your browser and never send your files anywhere, so nothing is stored on a server.
